group visits

Group visits:

During the Summer and Autumn months, when the flowers are a sight to behold, group visits are welcome by arrangement.

The plot is set out with maximum flower production and ease of harvesting in mind. Raised beds are oriented north to south to allow the sun to reach both sides and encourage straight stems. Three foot wide paths between the beds allow you to get up close to the plants, and everything is labelled with information about vase life, period of harvesting etc. Being surrounded by flowers on all sides is a delight and not something that you tend to experience very often!

Booking information:

The minimum group size is six people. As the on-site shelter can accommodate 15 people in the event of rain, this is a sensible maximum number. Larger groups wishing to come may like to consider splitting into two or more groups as there are several other attractions in the village, including the museum (next door!). The Hannah Bennett Sculpture Garden, Eyam Hall and the Church are also within walking distance.

I genuinely enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge with others. Growing flowers for cutting is a specialist discipline. It is interesting and quite different from everyday gardening. I am happy to give a talk which can be general, or tailored to suit your particular interests.

Car parking and public toilets are located across the road.

My charge for group visits in 2018 is £5 per head.

Refreshments can be served and the price for this will depend on your requirements, but is typically £3 per head for cake and tea/coffee or £5 for Pimms and savoury nibbles.
